Janaki ramana – Neelambari – Geetam

Shri Chitravina N Ravikiran teaches the Neelambari Geetam, ‘Janaki Ramana’ set to Mishra Chapu tala. Shri Ravikiran gives a brief sketch of this sublime raga before proceeding to teach the geetam. This geetam provides an invaluable introduction to students, which will enable them to bring out the raga’s evocative beauty in masterpieces such as Amba neelayatakshi of Muttuswami Dikshitar and Amba Neelambari of Tanjore Quartet.
